Fundraising in the Band Program - General Information
If your child participates in a band fundraiser, a portion of the profits from items sold is held in a student account (siblings who are in band at ESMS share a family account). This amount in your band account is recognized as "trip credits" that students can use to subsidize band trips/travel/festivals as they get older in band. The longer you stay in band, the more travel opportunities you have!
*If students do not continue in the band program after Grade 6, any trip credits earned are returned to the band parents general fundraising account if students have not used them.
*If students do not continue in band but have a younger sibling coming into ESMS, trip credits are carried over for a period of 5 years max. for younger siblings to use.
*If students do not use trip credits prior to finishing Grade 9 and do not have a sibling coming into the band program at ESMS within 5 years, trip credits are returned to the band parents general fundraising account.
**Please note: trip credits are not "money" - trip credits are only to be used to subsidize band trips and travel opportunities while students are in the band program. No cash reimbursement will be issued for unused trip credits.
